Standard Liege defender Oguchi Onyewu claims he is in talks over a possible move to Birmingham.
The USA international expects to have reached a final decision on any move to St Andrew's by the weekend.
Blues have moved early in this summer's transfer window, sealing the club-record signing of striker Christian Benitez and waiting on a work permit to complete the capture of his Ecuador international team-mate, centre-back Giovanny Espinoza.
Onyewu told skysports.com: "I have many offers and I want to play in England so the Birmingham offer is there. We will know by the weekend."

i am in touch with a few friends in belgium , the thought are he is a decent player , but these guys are gonna get found wanting in the premier league , but lets hope all is good ,
he played for newcastle 2 seasons ago when younger and less experienced done well last season making 32 appearances scoring three! i say give the guy a chance signing on a free we aint gonna get much better! especially as we are paying in the region of 3.5m for championship defenders at least this guy has played top flight football all be it in belgium!
the guy played 11 games for Newcastle, if he was good they would have kept him!
don't take to long to think about it man , we might just realise you aint really good enough , but you can dream my boy
