Sunderland to face Hearts

Wed, 10 Jun 14:10:51 2009

Sunderland will travel to Edinburgh to play Hearts as they put the finishing touches to their preparations for the new Barclays Premier League campaign.

Steve Bruce's men will take on the Scottish Premier League side, who finished third behind Rangers and Celtic last season, at Tynecastle on Saturday, August 8.

The game, which will see record signing £9million Craig Gordon return to his former club, will take place just a week before the Premier League gets under way once again.

Sunderland will earlier take part in the Amsterdam Tournament along with Ajax, Atletico Madrid and Benfica.
