Egypt striker Mido has revealed he was contacted by former club Zamalek last month to discuss a potential transfer.The Middlesbrough forward endured an injury-ravaged first season at the Riverside but is not ready for a return to Zamalek - although he did not rule out a move in the future.

"Mamdouh Abbas (Zamalek chairman) contacted me a month ago and I asked him to talk to my club," Mido told Modern Sport TV. "But nothing more happened.

"I love Zamalek and there is a chance I can return in the future, but I am not ready to do that at the moment."
