Robins boss in plea for patience

Thu 10 Jul, 03:14 PM

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has urged Robins supporters to be patient as the club goes about its transfer dealings.Johnson has so far added just one player to his squad this summer, signing Gavin Williams from Championship rivals Ipswich, while Nick Carle has left Ashton Gate to join Crystal Palace.

Johnson insists he has irons in the fire as regards new arrivals, but insists he will not be going public with any details until the deals are done.

"There is no news and when something happens I will be able to speak about it. These things don't happen overnight. There are always complications and dramas, with plenty of negotiations," Johnson told the club's official website. "In most deals you think you are there but then somebody pushes it a bit further.

"Just when you think you've got your squad together you can bet your bottom dollar somebody comes in for one or two of your players. You are always aware of that, but all I can say to people is 'I will tell you when it's done.'

"If I told you everything that happened every day then you would wonder how I sleep at night."
