Tottenham have reportedly agreed a deal to sign highly-rated Spanish striker Luis Garcia from Primera Liga outfit Espanyol.
Reports in Spain suggest Spurs have beaten off interest from Benfica to sign the Spain international.
Negotiations took place on Wednesday night in the Ciutat Contal with the player's agent Juanma Lopez, together with Espanyol's lawyer Vicente Montes.
Following a successful meeting, the player is set to finalise personal terms with the London club before flying to England next week to undergo a medical.
Tottenham have been after another striker since allowing Jermain Defoe to leave the club in the January transfer window and Luis Garcia's versatility is a key factor in Ramos' desire to sign him.
Benfica's Quique Sanchez Flores was also keen on the 27-year-old, who was Espanyol's top scorer in the league last term with 13 goals, but the lure of the Premier League has proved too strong.
Ramos has been linked with several Espanyol players in the past, including Carlos Kameni and Daniel Jarque, but Garcia is the first that he has actually made an official move for.
