The second run upon the 20-kilometre Losevo route allowed the Skoda team to record another one-two stage victory, and for Juho Hanninen it was an opportunity to continue his faultless streak of successful runs.
Hanninen's win was accomplished at the end of a 11:27.9 performance, 3.4sec faster than teammate Jan Kopecky's. Both factory Skoda Fabias have been running well with no issues to speak of, but the same cannot be said of their opponents at this rally.
Guy Wilks is still recovering from his earlier tyre puncture; if he can no longer seriously consider regaining his lost provisional podium position, he can nonetheless show off his Proton Satria Neo's potential by setting the third-quickest time on this run.
Patrik Flodin's Uspenskiy Team Subaru Impreza was fourth-fastest ahead of the Abarth team's Giandomenico Basso. Past the half-minute delay mark on the stage winner, Aleksandr Zheludov came next, preceding the Mitsubishi Lancers of Franz Wittmann and Boris Zimin.
The misfortunes continued for the Abarth team when Anton Alen tore a wheel off his Grande Punto, taking him off the provisional podium. The car will be repaired this evening, allowing the Finn to return tomorrow under SupeRally rules. It hasn't been an easy weekend for the team.
In the general rankings, Juho Hanninen is very nearly a minute ahead of Jan Kopecky as 59.8 seconds separate the Skoda teammates. Anton Alen's problems have allowed Abarth teammate Giandomenico Basso to move into third place overall, although almost two minutes down from his nearest rival.
Patrik Flodin moves up to fourth place while Russian champion Aleksandr Zheludov moves into fifth position, but Guy Wilks is 6.5sec away and fully intent on entering the top five himself.
The repeat passage over the Topol'ki stage comes next to complete Day Two at Rally Russia.
