The filly hit the front with 300 metres left and despite swerving badly hung on for Tom Queally to beat 14-1 chance Main Aim, who had cut out the pace and was beginning to stay on again.

Jockey Ryan Moore had to snatch up Main Aim and was beaten by a length and a quarter. The stewards called an inquiry but let the result stand.

J J The Jet Plane (13-2), trained by South Africa's Mike de Kock, finished third of the 13 runners to emerge best of the foreign raiders.

Australia's Scenic Blast, an impressive winner at Royal Ascot where he beat Fleeting Spirit into second, never got in a blow and came in 10th after starting the 11-8 favourite.

Evergreen compatriot Takeover Target (16-1) was seventh just behind French-trained African Rose (25-1).

Winning jockey Queally, riding for Newmarket trainer Jeremy Noseda, said of his filly: "She has a really impressive turn of foot."
