Colchester defender Pat Baldwin has signed a new contract at the Community Stadium.

The long-serving centre-half, who joined the Us from Chelsea in 2002, will be eligible for a testimonial at the end of his latest deal.

"I agreed to sign a few weeks ago and it has just been a case of ironing out the final details," he told the club's official website.

"I think we have got a great squad of players here and I am raring to go this season."
