Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond was quick to praise goalscoring veteran Darren Anderton after he scored in the 1-1 draw with Gillingham. The 36-year-old midfielder, who is beginning his 18th season as a professional, ran through the heart of the Gillingham defence before beating Simon Royce with a low left-foot shot in the 42nd minute.
Bond said: "He is still a classy player. He is going as strong as ever and we are going to need him to stay that way because we have so few players.
"Now that we have come out of administration, I hope to be able to make some signings but we are going to have to play at the moment with what we have got.
"Gillingham will think they deserved a point and I am not going to disagree with that verdict. All we can say is that we have not played well and not been beaten.
"This is going to be a difficult year for us, with 17 points taken away before we even began, but that is the situation and we have to get on with it."
