Oldham boss John Sheridan was delighted his late triple substitution paid off as his side fought back to snatch a 4-3 victory against Millwall. At 3-1 down he gambled by throwing on Lee Hughes, Lewis Alessandra and Danny Whitaker and they whipped up a goal storm that left Millwall shell-shocked.
Sheridan said: "Sometimes it comes off, other times it doesn't - but those three changes changed the whole course of the game.
"The goals we conceded were embarrassing and Millwall were no better than us. So to come back like we did was very rewarding.
"The game had looked over and I had to try something, once our subs went on we totally dominated the game.
"We showed a lot of character because most of the time you will never get back in it at 3-1 down."
