Manager Jim Gannon believes Stockport should fear no-one in League One after they got their campaign under way with a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield. The hosts took the lead courtesy of a headed goal by veteran striker Andy Booth in the 30th minute and seemed to be cruising until Tommy Rowe equalised for the division's new-boys following good work from full-back Johnny Mullins.
Gannon was particularly pleased with his side's display after the break, saying: "What pleased me was that halfway through the second half our supporters started singing which showed us that we fully deserve to be playing at this level but I don't think we have anything to fear in League One.
"Huddersfield are a strong, well-organised side and they are a top club and it was always going to be difficult for us. I thought we showed a lot of quality, particularly in the second half when they couldn't handle us."
Gannon was upset by the performance of referee Andy Haines and added: "He made some poor decisions and missed some blatant fouls. There were some crude tackles on our players towards the end and at one stage the game could have exploded."
