Huddersfield boss Stan Ternent slammed his side's opening-day performance after they were held to a 1-1 draw by League One new-boys Stockport. The Terriers took the lead courtesy of a headed goal by veteran striker Andy Booth in the 30th minute and seemed to be cruising until some sloppy defending allowed Tommy Rowe to slot home the equaliser after good work from full-back Johnny Mullins.
Ternent was blunt in his assessment of Town's showing, saying: "We were absolute rubbish. I'm just relieved we got a point. We never deserved anything more.
"Although in fact we made more chances than Stockport we were absolutely terrible, we just couldn't come to terms with our system, they were miles the better team throughout the game.
"I need more players and I need to spend more time with those I have got."
