Bruce happy to balance books

Thu, 10 Sep 16:47:51 2009

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce was happy to go some way towards balancing the books in a frenetic conclusion to the summer transfer window.

The 48-year-old made a big-money swoop for Hull defender Michael Turner as the deadline approached having already pounced for the likes of Darren Bent, Lee Cattermole, Fraizer Campbell, Lorik Cana and Paulo da Silva.

However, it was the exit door at the Stadium of Light which was spinning most rapidly during the final few days of the window as Paul McShane, Danny Collins, Carlos Edwards and Grant Leadbitter were all sold and Teemu Tainio headed for Birmingham on loan.

But Bruce insisted he had no qualms about recouping a healthy proportion of owner Ellis Short's latest investment.

He said: "You can't just keep asking the owner, unless you are Manchester City - even Chelsea over the last three years have spent very, very little. It was important I put something back in the coffers. It wasn't just a one-way thing, we have to try to address it and balance the books a bit and balance the squad a bit.

"There's nothing worse than saying to my first-team coach, `Right, you have got 28 players today'. It's difficult."

ha ha ha ha thats a laugh in itself, Bite again, you are so full of yourslf you make so many people laugh and smile in sympathy at your purile attempts at humour. As for me looking up the meaning of certain words, I dont need to as i fully comprehend the meaning. As for your wit, well if if you think your witty dont give up your day job cos you will starve and as for the intelligence to take you on I havent even started yet. You obviuosly haven't checked the Ground regulations (all the same in any FA ground) The making of any racist or abusive comment is an arrestable offence under the Football ground act 1991 ammended in 1999. so your comment would have had you arrested and you could have recieved a banning order for up to three yrs had you made it in a football ground. Would you like me to quote you some further football laws and the consequences of breaking these laws???
Your chairman was seen breaking the law when he was drinking on the terraces in view of the pitch (Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol act 1985) an arrestable offence.
Now like many people have said to you before go away and write on your own pages and if you dont like or agree with what I or others place on here then don't come on, If you cant stand the heat then get out of the Kitchen.

Is that the best you can do?

You dont have the wit to leave bait for me or the speed of thought to take me on directly, so dont pretend i'm biting at your remarks.... you have no sense of humour, no sense of irony and it is you constantly biting at the remarks i leave. For someone who regularly questions other peoples intelligence I would have thought you would understand the meaning of the word racist - look it up you plonker

I dont take anything the racist facist Zebra says at all I know exactly how to wind him up and he bites more times than a great white shark chewing on a seal. i just cant comprehend why a so called Newcastle fan spends so much time reading about a proper football club and then writing so much drivel and abuse at people he doesnt know or comprehend. He show himself exactly what he is.
