France coach Bernard Laporte has kept faith in the side that knocked New Zealand's out of the World Cup naming an unchanged team to face England in the semi finals at the Stade de France on Saturday.
Serge Betsen and Olivier Milloud (pictured right) have recovered from head and neck injuries sustained during Les Bleus battling 20-18 win over New Zealand to keep their places at flanker and prop respectively.
Betsen was knocked out cold after receiving a blow to the head by a knee in just the fifth minute of the game. After spending several seconds unconscious while a medical team attended to him, Betsen walked off the field, albeit assisted, clearly dazed and confused.
Milloud failed to re-appear for the second half of the clash at the Millennium Stadium after receiving a blow to the neck. But both have recovered enough to resume training
Damien Traille, Vincent Clerc, Yannick Jauzion, Cedric Heymans, Jean-Baptiste Elissalde, Julien Bonnaire, Thierry Dusautoir, Jerome Thion also picked up minor knocks during the All Blacks clash, according to France's team doctor, but all came through a full training session on Tuesday before being named in the starting XV.
"All the players gave us satisfaction against New Zealand and that made it very difficult for us to take somebody out," Laporte said. "We had the option of changing a few players but it wouldn't have been fair. The players will have to fight all together, defend well, remain disciplined and take calculated risks."
Frederic Michalak, who made the break that lead to Jauzion's match-winning try last weekend, will again start on the bench with Laporte again prefering Lionel Beauxis to start at fly-half.
Beauxis has been criticised for looking far from convincing during the quarter final but Laporte defended the 21-year-old saying conditions were tough.
"He didn't have the ball in good conditions very often and he didn't take many risks but he played good rugby," Laporte said of Beauxis's performance against the All Blacks. "You can't say he was better than the others but you can't say either that he was not as good."
Hosts France are hoping to reverse the 7-24 defeat to England at the same stage in the 2003 World Cup in Australia four years ago. Betsen scored France's only try during that match, which was converted by Michalak.
