Helguson making progress

Sat, 10 Oct 14:11:02 2009

Heidar Helguson is in line to return from injury against Middlesbrough next weekend.

The 32-year-old has started running again after pulling a calf muscle in the 3-3 draw with Leicester three weeks ago.

But Watford manager Malky Mackay is reserving judgement on his potential involvement until he returns to full training.

He told the Watford Observer: "He needs to join in with full training before we can gauge him in what direction we go, as to whether he starts, is on the bench or whether he is involved at all and we wait until the following week.

"But we are happy with the progress so far."
