Hartlepool director of sport Chris Turner was satisfied with a point after his side were held to a goalless draw by Brentford at Victoria Park.
Chances were few and far between in a game played in difficult conditions.
"A draw was perhaps about right. We did better in the first half, but it's not falling for us in the penalty box," said Turner.
"We cancelled each other out and it looked like a nil-nil.
"It's not easy in those conditions - all you ask for is the players to give their all and if they can't win the game, then not to get beat.
"We had a few openings, but we are working hard on finishing and shooting. Sometimes you go through those periods when you can't get in front and that's what happened."
