Few complaints

Nick Luck and Richard Hoiles should be one and two and let's not forget 'The Voice' of Irish racing Gray O'Brien. Matt Chapman's not that bad but still not deserved of a place in the Top 10. But all and all a well balanced list.

Wrong number one!

How you can place Clare Balding above the Racing UK & ATR commentators is beyond me. The Racing Channel staff have far more to deal with than any short BBC or Channel 4 transmission, how often do Channel 4 or BBC give results from other courses? I'd place Lydia Hislop, Sean Boyce, Enzo, Bob Cooper and even Matt Chapman as way ahead of the rest.

Get Hoiles out

I'd like to say that I agree with the vast majority of your choices but one really stands out like a sore thumb: Richard Hoiles seems like a perfectly nice chap but he's very anodyne and bland in his presentation and his "top drawer" commentaries are often marred by a tendency to exaggerate distances; a horse may be six or seven lengths clear and he'll call it as twenty. Commentary is about accuracy, surely?

Like Les from Japan I like Peter Naughton.He talks to you like a mate and should be on main tv more often. Chapman is a joke. Ok in small measures but only for a laugh. Clare of course is head and shoulders above the rest.

Nick Luck and Clare Balding are in a league of there own! How can someone suggest Matt Chapman, he should be presenting on the moon! John Francome is always worth listening to.

If Matt Chapman ever appears in the Top Ten I will give up punting. He is more annoying than Willie Carson. Sean Boyce is the man!

Surely Matt Chapman deserves a place in the top 10, he can make a dull day sound good. In fact all the ATR 'Booth' presenters are first rate, Boycie, Enzo and Chappers - Brilliant.

Cooper should be in!

I agree with some of your ratings, but for heavens sake where is "Sir" Bob Cooper. He is the presenter I most look forward to seeing on televised racing. He is very knowledgeable, but doesn't take things to seriously and can put a smile on your face with some of his interviews. I don't think anyone turns him down because he's so likeable. So come on, next time you compile your list, don't forget "Sir" Bob.

How can Dave Ord possible rate Steve Mellish being in the his top 10 he talks so fast and his voice is so irritating i have to mute the sound whenever he's speaking to avoid getting an headache, by far the worse thing about RUK.

Where's Peter Naughton!?

I wish at times that I was in the UK, or at least had ready access to the comments and opinions past by various commentators and tipsters on TV, as I do follow racing in the UK. I am interested to know whether Peter Naughton would be eligible to be on the list. If so, and the fact that he isn't, does that tend to suggest that he is not so popular enough? Also, as you have provided the top ten or so, roughly how many are there? Not important to know but I would appreciate any comments that you make.

Dave agrees with Dave!

Surely Clare Balding deserves a permanent position in the top 10 just for putting up with Willie Carson! I agree with Dave Ord's assessment of Lydia Hislop as I also think she is great value and I don't understand the ongoing criticism levelled at her. She is leagues above the likes of Zoey Bird!
