Republic of Ireland midfielder Liam Miller was on Tuesday night undergoing a scan on a calf injury which could rule him out of his country's World Cup play-off clash with France.
The 27-year-old will be assessed on Wednesday, but could be sent back to club Hibernian if he is unable to take his place in the squad.
However, Miller is manager Giovanni Trapattoni's only injury worry and if he is ruled out, the Italian will not call up a replacement.
Damien Duff is fully recovered from his latest fitness problem, an Achilles injury, and trained with his team-mates at Malahide on Tuesday.
