Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd has admitted he is yet to decide whether to offer captain Gavin Mahon a new contract to stay at Vicarage Road. The 30-year-old midfielder has been a regular all season under Boothroyd but has been left out of the squad for the Hornets' last two matches and has been replaced by teenager John-Joe O'Toole.
Boothroyd said: "Gavin is in the last year of his contract and I've left him out at the moment because I think that John-Joe O'Toole has come to the fore and is playing well.
"I'm at the stage when I've got to make a decision on his future and I'll be doing that in a couple of weeks' time.
"Either way, I have to say that Gavin has taken it like the terrific pro he is. He's a good player and it's natural other clubs will be taking an interest in him.
"The decision I have to make is whether to give him another contract or not."
