Trollope set to shuffle defence

Wed 10 Dec, 03:45 PM

Bristol Rovers first-team coach Paul Trollope still intends to make defensive changes for the visit of Tranmere following the loss to Millwall. This comes despite conceding his initial comments were a "knee-jerk reaction" to the Lions defeat.

Trollope was critical of Rovers' rearguard after his side's 3-2 loss at The Den at the weekend.

But he insists he will stand by his post-match comments and that changes in personnel should be expected on Saturday.

"The statement was a bit of a knee-jerk reaction after the game, but it is probably a true on and I have got an idea of what we will do," Trollope told the club's official website.

"We need to improve defensively, that's the bottom line. It is not rocket science. As for who will miss out and who will come into the side, Trollope was keeping his cards close to his chest.

He added: "We have got people available and this week is about working hard in training, giving people a chance in different positions and seeing who shapes up best for Saturday."
