Liverpool's European humiliation is complete - they have dropped out of the top 20 in our Champions League power rankings.
We take into account domestic and Champions League performances, plus the relative difficulty of each team's league, to find out who is the best team in Europe.
Rafa Benitez's side bowed out of the Champions League with a 2-1 defeat at home to Fiorentina, a result that saw them slump three places to 21st in the rankings.
At the other end of the table, Chelsea are still on top despite losing to Manchester City - although their lead has been cut considerably. Real Madrid are up to second following their win at Marseille, leapfrogging Bordeaux and Arsenal.
The Gunners drop five places to seventh after a shadow side lost 1-0 to Olympiacos in Greece - they have also lost to Chelsea since the last installation of the rankings.
Defending Champions League winners Barcelona continue their climb, rising a further two places to fifth. And 14th-placed Juventus are the highest-ranked side not to qualify for the knockout stages - they drop to the Europa League after losing to Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

HOW IT WORKS
Scores are based on points per game in domestic league and Champions League games.
Domestic points per game are multiplied by the league coefficient - either 3.5, 4, 4.5 or 5 - with teams in stronger leagues getting more credit.
League coefficients:
5 - England, Italy, Spain
4.5 - Germany, France, Portugal, Netherlands, Russia
4 - Belgium, Greece, Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, Scotland, Hungary, Romania
3.5 - Cyprus, Switzerland, Israel
Champions League victories are counted as three points for a win. They are all multiplied by a coefficient of 5. Matches in the group stage and beyond are counted.
Example: Arsenal
28 points from 14 Premier League games = 2.00 points per game
Multiplied by league coefficient of five - 2.00 x 5 = 10.00
13 points from 6 Champions League game = 2.17 points per game.
Multiplied by European coefficient of five - 2.17 x 5 = 10.83
Total score = 10.00 + 10.83 = 20.83

Liverpool has reached a very challenging point where they have to be very careful with the decisions they will make as a result of these series of unfortunate events. Rafael Benitez still has something to offer for Liverpool, no one should give up on him. This is football for crying out loud. He has won the champions league with Liverpool before so please, a minor setback is not going to be his doomsday. Liverpool will never walk alone.
