Norwich manager Glenn Roeder has re-signed Manchester City striker Ched Evans on an emergency loan. The 19-year-old Welshman has moved to Carrow Road until February 26, with the Premier League club having the option to recall the Under-21 international anytime after February 6.

Evans enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Canaries earlier in the season, scoring in the second minute of his home debut against Plymouth at the start of December.

He went on to make nine appearances, including six starts, and found the net twice.

The promising teenager comes into contention to face Barnsley on Saturday but will be ineligible for the FA Cup third round replay at Bury on Tuesday night.

Boss Glenn Roeder told the club's official website: "We are delighted to have Ched rejoin us. I am very grateful to Sven-Goran Eriksson for his assistance in making this happen."
