Southend winger Mark Gower is set to return to the squad for the visit of Yeovil to Roots Hall after recovering from a back problem.The injury forced the former Spurs youngster out of last weekend's 5-2 FA Cup third round win against Dagenham but he was given the all-clear after returning to training on Thursday.
New boy Damian Scannell is also being considered for his Shrimpers debut after netting in midweek for the reserves following his £5,000 transfer from Blue Square South outfit Eastleigh.
The 22-year-old was cup-tied against the Daggers but has impressed manager Steve Tilson since arriving at the club.
Victory against the Glovers would see United leap-frog their rivals in the League One standings, the south coast club currently eighth in the table.
