Mansfield captain Jake Buxton will miss his side's trip to the Saunders Honda Stadium to take on Chester on Saturday through suspension.Buxton must serve a one-match ban after he collected his fifth yellow card of the season during the Stags' FA Cup third round win at Brighton and fellow defender Johnny Mullins will don the armband in Buxton's absence.
Matt Hamshaw missed the midweek defeat by Wycombe for family reasons and he is expected to return to the squad.
Martin McIntosh could be back in contention after a calf complaint but Alex John-Baptiste (back) will not be available, although he could be in the squad to face Darlington next week.
Mansfield, who are without an away win in the league this season, still have problems in attack with top scorer Michael Boulding and John McAliskey both still out with hamstring problems.
