Nervy Muir Close In On Title

Fri 11 Jan, 07:09 PM

Boroughmuir can on Saturday be crowned Scottish champions for the third time by clinching the Premiership Division One title.

The Edinburgh side would make sure of top spot by beating second-bottom GHA at Meggetland.

Distant challengers Currie and Ayr are 24 points off Boroughmuir's electric pace with five games to play, and they go head to head tomorrow.

The Division One trophy will be at Boroughmuir's home match given the potential for post-match celebrations.

Boroughmuir first XV manager Grant Wilson admitted: "There are a lot of nerves around Meggetland.

"GHA have beaten Currie and drawn with Ayr away in the last few weeks so they're pretty much the form team.

"It would be nice to win the title tomorrow but we're taking absolutely nothing for granted."
