Rochdale manager Keith Hill has moved quickly to quash speculation linking him with the vacant managerial position at Walsall.Media reports on Sunday had suggested Hill had been in contact with the League One side - who parted company with former manager Jimmy Mullen on Saturday.

But in a statement on Dale's official website, Hill categorically denied any interest in the vacant Saddlers post.

"I honestly don't know where this has come from - it is completely out of left-field," Hill told the club's official website.

"I can categorically state that I have never, whilst I have been contracted to this club, applied for any jobs. I want everyone to know that I am 100% committed to the club, to the board, to the players and to the supporters.

"I would want also to assure everyone that we are totally focussed and working towards our goal of achieving the success that everyone at Rochdale Football Club so richly reserves."
