Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will visit a specialist on Monday after he was ruled out of his side's home Premier League clash with Chelsea because of a recurring back injury.
The England international had been declared fit in the buildup to the game but manager Alex Ferguson said he had suffered a muscle spasm.
"Rio trained all week without a problem but woke up this morning with another spasm so we're going to send him to another specialist tomorrow because it's becoming a problem for us," Ferguson told Sky Sports.
Ferdinand has missed United's last four matches.

2008 is the year for MU. Champions of England, Champions of Europe and Champions of the World. Love it or Hate it, that's the fact.
Liv, Chelsea and MU still fighting for the crown this year so GAME ON.
BTW, Rafa just shut you damn mouth.
This roboalen 03 open minded girl is driving me mad. If you open minded, get the hell out of here. This is a football forum.
same United. Always cheating! you certainly arent the best in Europe, you fluked the champions league in penalties. dont deny what benitez said because it is true, and at last someone has had the balls to say it.
well well well stuart K, it seems chelski played as @#$% as ure mum last nite
to stuart k. no surrender ur avin a laugh. u surrendered the lot last season. 3rd rate team not capable of playing with the big boys in the C.L.

marieodonovan, Benitez clearly has a problem judging life around him, so don't be surprised if next game he plays Carragher in the midfield
HO HO WHERE ARE CHELSEA AND THE SCOUSERS NOW 3-0
to chelski, liverFool and arse-null fans, watch carefully..the red devils will eat all of u..
superb n solid performance from ManUtd!!
He's finished and the boy Evans is a worthy replacement. I liked the one about will he turn up. Wicked
man u have won chelsea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111111111 111111111111
will rio remember to turn up
To ayajulmalik if man utd draw today and win there next two games it does not put them top of the table. They would still be one point behind Liverpool,
, who stuffed up yesterday but the season isn't decided on one game and i still believe they can win the title if benitez would stop playing people like benayoun when theres people like torres and keane on the bench. why pay that much for robbie keane if he was going to leave him on the bench is uncomprehendable!
he ain't playing...... his leg is still twitching
United!!!
man utd 2 chelski 1,drogba will spend most of the game trying to get players booked as usual, come on you reds,.
here it wud b better if chelsea win 2day....dis is from a liverpool fan....dnt wnt 2 see the dirty mancs climb the table....liverpool for the PL and CL!!!! EASY!
