Reading manager Steve Coppell believes Czech midfielder Marek Matejovsky could be key in helping the Royals avoid relegation this season. The Royals slipped into the Premier League's bottom three on Saturday as they suffered a seventh consecutive defeat, going down 1-0 to Everton.
The 26-year-old joined the Madejski Stadium side from Mlada Boleslav during the January transfer window and made his second start for the club at Goodison Park.
Coppell feels his new signing has already found his feet in the top-flight and is a welcome addition to the Reading squad.
He told the club's official website: "Marek has given us a new dimension in midfield.
"I think a few of my more comfortable players appreciated the room.
"He's bright, he could play for anybody. That has just lifted everyone around him.
"It's been infectious seeing the way he plays and we've learned from that. He's been good for us."
