Preston boss Alan Irvine will check on the fitness of Callum Davidson and Lewis Neal ahead of Tuesday's trip to Championship rivals Colchester.The pair sat out Saturday's home victory against Coventry with thigh and hamstring injuries respectively and could miss out again.

But Irvine will be reluctant to make changes after his side ground out a 1-0 success against the Sky Blues to climb out of the relegation zone.

The Deepdale boss has now set his side a target of seven wins from their remaining 15 games to safeguard their Championship status.

Irvine said: "There is an awful lot of hard work to be done and we probably still need another seven wins to be able to relax."
