Milan 1-0 Siena

Milan are well and truly back in the hunt for a European place after their 1-0 win over Siena at the San Siro.

Internazionale (to face Liverpool on Tuesday 19th)

Catania 0-2 Inter

Inter remain eight points clear at the top of Serie A with a 2-0 win at Catania.

Esteban Cambiasso tapped in from close range in the second half but replays showed the Argentinian was in an offside position, but Honduras international David Suazo put the game beyond doubt three minutes later.

Barcelona (to face Celtic on 20th)

Sevilla 1-1 Barcelona

The 2006 European champions were lucky to leave the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan with a 1-1 draw against Sevilla, a result that drops them eight points behind leaders Real Madrid.

Sevilla had taken the lead through teenager Diego Capel, scoring his first senior goal for the club. Playmaker Xavi got Barca out of jail with 20 minutes left by latching onto a Lionel Messi through ball and poking the ball under keeper Andre Palop.

Lyon (to face Manchester United on 20th)

Lyon 4-1 Sochaux

Olympique Lyon maintained their four-point lead in Ligue 1 with a 4-1 win over struggling Sochaux.

Midfielder Mathieu Bodmer opened the scoring after just two minutes for the six-time champions, and added another in the second half to regain the lead after Fabrice Pancrate had equalised just after half-time. Karim Benzema and Sidney Govou added a goal each in injury time to put the match beyond doubt and keep Lyon ahead of Bordeaux.

Olympiacos (to face Chelsea on 19th)

Panionios 0-4 Olympiacos

Olympiacos move up to second in the Greek Super League after they gave Panionios a 4-0 thrashing in their own backyard.

Two goals from Darko Kovacevic, one from Leonel Nunez and a penalty from captain Predrag Dordevic put the Athens side just two points behind leaders Panathinaikos with a game in hand.
