Czech Republic international Rudi Skacel is set to return to action for Southampton after showdown talks with manager Mark Wotte.
The versatile player, who was playing regularly at left-back under previous head coach Jan Poortvliet, has been frozen out by Wotte since he requested a transfer last month.
But with the transfer window now closed, 29-year-old Skacel (pictured battling with Manchester United's Danny Welbeck in this season's FA Cup clash) has vowed to knuckle down and help Saints in their battle to avoid relegation.
"Rudi is available again. He's told me he wants to play so I will select him if I need him," said Wotte.
"He did a good job in November and December so it's good he is available for selection again now."

Youve more faith than me Jude , I cant see it myself I think with the squad we have they just cant cut it. And theres Wotte saying `We`re going to have to rely on the more experienced players`.......Is he having a laugh ? .....we `aint got non - they were all sold off
I really hope they do pull it off , as we have no right being where we are just as Leeds have no right being in D1 ....And funnily enough there was a @#$% there as well could couldnt run a club to save his life and got them in that financial mess in the first place .
We need a set up like the guys who have taken over at Sheffield Weds - people who care about the club and who have a game plan
I agree with you eltelboy...the reason Rudi wanted out...was that he was frozen out, RL wanted his pound of flesh in the bank so why not ask for a transfer. Now the window is over and we have three months left, lets do all that we can to halt the decline further, if Rudi helps keep us in the championship, thats all good with me. COYR, I think we are about to turn a corner and climb the ladder to mid table
The whole reason he was frozen out by Wotte was probably cos he was told to by d - head up stairs(because Rudi is a higher earner) and it would suit Lowe to off load him by `stealth` , constuctive dismissal , call it what yuo want to once again lower the wage bill. I dont blame Skacel at all , why should the players show any loyalty when they are continuously being @#$% on from above
why let him play wanted to go a month ago never mind the whole club dont no what they are doinging will be down soon never mind danny
let the czech rot in the reserves we are in enough trouble at the moment without players like him wanting to jump ship.
why allow him the oppertunity of impressing prospective clubs for his own selfish reasons. f++k off skacel
