Sir Alex Ferguson has said Liverpool should sell Luis Suarez after branding the striker "a disgrace" for refusing to shake Patrice Evra's hand before the Premier League encounter at Manchester United.
The Red Devils secured a 2-1 win to leapfrog Manchester City at the top of the table but the entire occasion was scarred by Suarez's behaviour.
Making his first start since serving an eight-match ban for making racist remarks to Evra in the reverse fixture at Anfield in October, Suarez opted not to take the United skipper's outstretched hand and it set the tone for an ill-tempered afternoon, scarred by a tunnel bust up, when Evra is thought to have tried to confront Suarez at half-time.
When asked about the incident before kick-off, Ferguson said: "I couldn't believe it. I just could not believe it. I had a chat with Patrice. He said he was going to shake his hand because he had done nothing to be ashamed of and wanted to keep his dignity. And he (Suarez) refuses.
"He is a disgrace to Liverpool Football Club. That player should not be allowed to play for Liverpool again. The history that club has got - and he does that.
"In a situation like this, he could have caused a riot. I would get rid of him if I were them."

What a refreshing bit of common sense on this whole Media/Press manufactured topic, Yes i agree the Media has hyped this up a lot and are to blame for a lot of the hostility concerned here.

Fergusson should keep his mouth shut as yes i agree suarez refussed to shake hands with patrice evra but he has made no comment on the situation where ferdinand deliberatly ignored suarez and refused to shake his hand for no apparent reason but he could be in mourning for his brother who at this point hasnt proved his case against john terry so rio has thrown his toys out of his pram in support.TWONK
I agree with Merlin @ 15 here, Evra is not a Saint and in my opinion he is one of the most distasteful players in the Premiership. I have always maintained that Evra is one of the most amoral players in the EPL and as much respect as I have for Ferguson, his reasoning at times, depicts a clear level of a person with limited education, who has found himself in an unexpected wealth and riches. When Cantona committed his attrocious behaviour several years ago, not once, did Ferguson caome out to condemn him. Other examples of unacceptable behaviours by United players such as Gary Neville, Remi Moses, Roy Keane, to mention but a few, over the years were allowed by Ferguson to pass. It seems Ferguson is suffering from acute memory problem for sure.
I take offence by Mr fergsons comments about the England managers job when he said that he would only take it on if he could get England relagated. I think that comment is racist.

Yahoo, eurosport and the media in general should be totally disgusted and ashamed of themselves in the way in which over the last month they have latched onto this story and dragged it out to create bad feelings amongst players, and supporters leading up to this game.
I see so many people on here taking the so called moral high ground and believing everything is black and white pardon the pun. What short memories some of the man u fans have as I seem to remember back in the day coming to your ground and hearing and seeing your fans in stands shouting racist chants at our players.
Luis should have shook his had yes but he didn't and that was his choice. One question I would like to ask any of you reading this and hope I can receive a very honest answer. Would any of you shake the hand of a man who had verbally abused you and members of your family? Then after the game them after the game go complaining and when you are both called on to give evidence at the hearing you are the one who owns up and tells the truth but he lies about his part in it and you're the one to get the 8 match ban? Can any of you honestly admit to me that you would want to shake his hand in your first match back?
Let's get a few fact right here Evra is no saint he also helped inflame the situation further by behaving so childish by complaining and trying to hold onto Suarez's hand after he clearly passed him and refused to shake his hand, both players behaved childish by the way. Was this the right thing to do, that was Suarez choice. That being the case do not go crying to anyone just accept it and leave it at that and let your football do the talking. Evra has previous form and if Sir Alex can honestly say that about our player then he really needs to look back and remember what happened firstly with Eric Cantona jumping into the stand and kung fu kicking a so called fan plus also what his beloved Evra did or caused back in the last World cup with his national team.
I dont remember ferguson getting rid of cantona for his impression of bruce lee on a supporter or rooney for his outburst on camera, but the man is entitled ti his opinion which means jackshit to liverpool fc and supporters. All this will fuel lfc to move on and upward and we will, so can we just play football, oh by the way kenny we need a defender I think johnson useless as a defender he could have prevented at least one goal if he was awake.
