Colchester midfielder Dean Hammond believes maintaining a positive team spirit is vital for his side's hopes of avoiding relegation.The Us face an uphill task in closing the gap on the survival places but Hammond is adamant there is hope of upsetting the odds if they continue to fight as a unit.

He told the club's official website: "As long as all the players are together as a group and the spirit remains strong, we've always got a chance.

"All the boys here work extremely hard in training and work hard for each other in the games so we are just looking for that bit of luck."
