Predrag Mijatovic has dismissed any comparison between under-fire Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster and previous incumbent Fabio Capello.Capello, now head coach of England, was sacked by Madrid despite leading them to the Primera Liga title.
And there has been speculation in Spain that Schuster could suffer the same fate in the summer.
But Mijatovic insists there were "special reasons" behind Capello's dismissal.
He told the club's official website: "Bernd Schuster will continue at the helm of the team. We've never thought otherwise.
"We have great confidence in him and we are calm with regards to his future.
"What happened with Capello last year will not happen again. There were special reasons for the latter's dismissal."
Schuster has come in for criticism following Madrid's exit from the Champions League at the last 16 stage to Roma.
However, they have been dominant in the Primera Liga and currently top the table, eight points ahead of arch rivals Barcelona.
Mijatovic is aware of the pressure on the Madrid staff to succeed and accepts criticism comes with the job.
He added: "I will always be criticised when things don't happen as we hoped they would.
"I am calm and trust my staff. We are working hard to achieve important things.
"Criticism will always be there and I accept it. I don't have a problem with it."
Former Madrid striker Mijatovic also revealed the club would not be making too many changes to their squad in the summer.
He said: "It is inevitable for the media to start speculating about players we may sign. We can't fight against that.
"We don't know where their information comes from.
"This summer will be much more relaxed than last year's. We will sign very few players because we currently have a great team.
"We may have to make some minor tweaks here and there."
