Lee Richardson believes his Chesterfield side's performance in the 2-1 League Two home defeat by MK Dons on Monday summed up their season.Goals from Keith Andrews and Lloyd Dyer sealed the Dons' 14th league away win of the season but the Spireites had plenty of chances to take something from the game.
Richardson said: "That's a perfect illustration of the way things have been going for us. Someone said it's a missed opportunity and that sums up our season.
"MK Dons are playing with the belief and assurance that comes with being top of the league while we are a young and naive side who are a bit daft at times.
"We gave them a goal in the first half after we had been pleased with the way we approached our strategy and then we switched off again after we got ourselves back into the game.
"They have got the best away record and are top of the league because of the quality of the opposition they are playing against."
