Windass set for Tigers return

Tue 11 Mar, 07:00 PM

Hull assistant manager Brian Horton has hinted Dean Windass could return to action from a knee problem against Southampton this weekend.Windass, who has missed the last two games against Burnley and Scunthorpe, was unable to train on Monday as he battles back to full fitness and is unlikely to face Cardiff on Wednesday.

The 38-year-old may now boost boss Phil Brown's attacking options against the Saints.

"Deano was with us on Friday and he's desperate to get back involved," said Horton.

"The more experienced you are, the more desperate you are to be involved in situations like this.

"Dean wasn't able to train on Monday so it's a bit of a set-back for him after his operation but we'll wait and see how he goes."
