"I'm very happy with this. My intention was to stay with the Cardinals," he said.

Taken by Arizona with the third overall pick in the 2004 draft, Fitzgerald led the NFC with 100 receptions last season, gaining 1,409 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns.

He has twice made trips to the Pro Bowl and has career totals of 330 catches for 4,544 yards and 34 TDs.

The signing gives the Cardinals one of the NFL's top receiving lineups, Fitzgerald and fellow Pro Bowler Anquan Boldin.

Elsewhere in the free agent market the Miami Dolphins signed unrestricted free agent Keith Davis on a two-year contract.

The 29-year-old safety and special teams player had spent the previous five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

Davis has played in 68 NFL games, including 22 starts, and registered 101 tackles. He was Dallas's special teams captain last year.

He has totaled 77 special teams tackles, including a high of 21 in 2004 and 18 last year.

Davis joined the Cowboys after four years at Sam Houston State where as a junior he was named the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
