Germany's Simone Hauswald won her second career biathlon World Cup event in the women's individual 15-km race in Whistler.
The 29-year-old, nee Denkinger, put in a perfect shooting performance to claim victory in the Canadian resort town, which will host the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Hauswald, who came second in this year's world championships, finished with a time of 42 minutes 44.6 seconds, 39.3 seconds ahead of Olga Zaitseva of Russia.
Zaitseva, the mass-start world champion, missed one target on the range.
Ukraine's Vita Semerenko also missed once with the rifle and crossed the line in third, 1:05.8 minutes behind Hauswald.
