France coach Marc Lievremont has handed Sebastian Chabal his first start in the back row for Sunday's Six Nations game against England at Twickenham.
Since taking charge of the French team after the 2007 World Cup, Lievremont has only selected the Sale Sharks player at lock.
Lievremont also named Francois Trinh-Duc at flyhalf in one of the three other changes he made on Wednesday to the starting side that defeated Wales 21-16 on February 27 in Paris.
Trinh-Duc takes over from Benoit Baby, who is sidelined by an injury.
In the pack, lock Jerome Thion replaces Romain Millo-Chluski (Achilles' tendon) and losehead prop Lionel Faure comes in for Fabien Barcella.

Comment 7...So the Romanian and Italian leagues are first and second??
over rated player playing in the third best rugby league in europe
He certainly did flatten Williams, but in fairness he got straight back up and Chabal was driven back 3 yards straight afterwards by 2 All Blacks. Still - good for team morale.
He's built for rucking. No problem staying on his feet and reaching the ball, as his arms are 5ft long.
my wife fancies tackling him but I wouldn't
Chabal is impressive but he loses the ball half the time, after he charged, he takes hours to get back on his legs...
He's really a "single-impact player".
They don't call him The Cave Man for nothing. This guy is massive, big, strong and scary. You should see his tackle on the mighty Ali Williams of the All Blacks
