Jim Hamilton has been recalled to the Scotland side for Saturday's Six Nations clash with Ireland after recovering from a shoulder injury.
The Edinburgh lock, who missed the win over Italy, comes in for Glasgow captain Alastair Kellock.
Head coach Frank Hadden had initially delayed finalising his 22 for this weekend's match at Murrayfield to give Hamilton and fellow second row Nathan Hines more time to prove their fitness.
Hines has been named on the bench and could make his first appearance of the championship after recovering from a knee injury.
Hadden said: "Both Jim Hamilton and Nathan Hines have emerged unscathed from a tough couple of days' training and Jim will be back in the starting line-up, with Nathan on the bench.
"We are delighted to have players of this quality available to us, but equally delighted that Alastair Kellock made it such a difficult decision for us by the quality of his performance against Italy."
Kellock drops out of the 22 altogether, while the final spot on the bench is filled by Edinburgh centre Nick De Luca.

It's good to see big Jim Hamilton back in the pack and, of course, Wagga Hines on the bench! Hmmmm, Mr O'Gara will have a sense of foreboding coursing through his veins when he sees the big fella growling at him in the technical area as he prepares for action, LOL!!! Mmmmm, the thought of Hines and Co galloping down the 10 channel with ball in hand should give every Scotland supporter goosebumps!
I am absolutely flabbergasted that Hadden has still picked Mikey Blair ahead of Chris Cusiter at scrum-half. There is very little doubt Blair is well off his game at the moment, and to keep playing him simply because he happens to be team captain is just daft! Every time Cusiter has come on in the previous matches of this 6 Nations championship, he has made a difference and Scotland have looked more dangerous. Blair needs a complete rest; I would have started with Cusiter and had Rory Lawson on the bench.
I am also amazed that Hadden has overlooked the 6 foot 8 inches of Alastair Kellock and persisted with Jason White alongside Hamilton. Jason has many remarkable qualities as a rugby player, but he is not a specialist 2nd rower; he's a blindside flanker and is not tall enough to compete with either of Ireland's twin lighthouses, O'Connell and O'Callaghan, who are probably the best 2nd row partnership in the tournament in my opinion.
At least Hadden has seen sense to restore Mossy Paterson to the 15 berth. Although his defence has been sound so far, Southwell's aimless hoofs up the park simply concede hard won possession cheaply and his dodgy passing was rapidly becoming a liability. Mossy is a better passer and his pace and elusive running provides us with more of a try threat to add to that of the Evans brothers and Danielli and of course, his place-kicking is second to none in the world.
C'mon Scotland, let's get tore in and put these Paddies gas at a peep!!!
Best looking team Hadden hs picked all season. So long as they stick it to the Irish from the first minute to the final whistle it should at least be an interesting game.
that should guarantee an Ireland victory.
