Beckford set to feature for Whites

Fri 11 Apr, 04:30 PM

Leeds United manager Gary McAllister is hoping striker Jermaine Beckford will prove his fitness in time for the home clash with Carlisle.Leading scorer Beckford struck his 20th goal of the season last week at Leyton Orient, but also sustained an ankle injury and was an early doubt for McAllister.

But Beckford has returned to full training and is likely to resume his partnership with on-loan Dougie Freedman.

McAllister has also been boosted by the return of Rui Marques and Darren Kenton (both hamstring) to full training and they will be included in the squad.

Leeds will be without left-back Alan Sheehan, suspended for the next two matches, so McAllister must decide whether Kenton or Andrew Hughes will fill in for the young Irishman.

The match kicks off at 12:15pm on Saturday.
