On-loan MK Dons striker Drewe Broughton has returned to manager Brian Little's Wrexham squad for the trip to New Meadow to take on Shrewsbury.Broughton was unable to face his parent club in midweek due to the terms of his loan deal, but will bolster Little's attacking options as the Dragons go all out to secure a priceless three points in the battle to avoid relegation.

Defender Simon Spender, who also missed the 4-1 defeat at the Dons, remains a doubt with an ankle problem but is expected to return to training in the build up to the Shrews game.

Jeff Whitley overcame a shoulder injury to earn a place on the bench on Tuesday night and is pushing to start, but fellow midfielder Danny Sonner (Achilles) and striker Rob Duffy (foot) remain stranded on the sidelines.

Midfielder Danny Williams is also struggling with a troublesome back injury but is expected to play.
