Mansfield Town captain Jake Buxton will miss his side's crucial relegation clash at Macclesfield Town through suspension.Buxton was controversially sent off after conceding the penalty that saw the Stags lose 2-1 against Stockport in midweek and begins a two-match ban.

Fellow defender Gareth Jelleyman could also be absent after suffering an Achilles injury at Edgeley Park.

Jelleyman was substituted at half-time against County and it is touch and go whether he will be fit.

"He is 50/50 to play on Saturday, but if Gareth can pull a yellow jersey on I know he will," said Stags manager Paul Holland. "We will know more nearer the time."

Holland will be able to call on Keith Briggs, Chris Wood and Dan Martin as defensive replacements.
