Defensive worries for Mariners clash

Fri 11 Apr, 01:15 PM

Rotherham manager Mark Robins has defensive problems as his side look to alleviate their off-field gloom with a much-needed win at Grimsby.Centre-back Ian Sharps will certainly miss out and is likely to be sidelined for the rest of the season after undergoing an operation on his troublesome hernia.

Sharps will join Stephen Brogan in the treatment room, with the youngster still out with a double fracture of the leg suffered against MK Dons at the beginning of February.

Tom Cahill and Ian Ross were forced to withdraw early as the Millers suffered their third consecutive defeat against Brentford last week but they have suffered no recurrence of their respective knocks in training and should be available at Blundell Park.

The 10-point administration deduction means Robins' side have gone from promotion contenders to mid-table mediocrity and, with just one win in their last nine games, three points would do much to lift spirits at Millmoor.
