Eight consortia have expressed an interest in purchasing Rotherham United - but need to lodge firm offers by the end of business on Friday.Mark Robins' side entered administration for the second time in 18 months last month but the club has attracted considerable interest.
However administrator Jeremy Bleazard, of XL Business Solutions, has admitted that a number of interested parties have already been ruled out for not meeting the criteria.
He said: "When any business is marketed, there is a procedure to follow.
"Part of this procedure is signing a confidentiality agreement and providing proof that monies are available to fund the purchase. Unfortunately, a number of interested parties have failed to meet this criteria.
"Sales packs have been distributed to those parties who have met the criteria and I am looking for formal offers for the club to be received by close of business on Friday April 11."
Bleazard confirmed that the rent for the club's Millmoor stadium and training ground has been paid in full for April, securing these facilities for the short term.
He also confirmed the majority of the players had taken wage deferrals but that one member of Robins' squad - striker Chris O'Grady - had refused.
He said: "One player has chosen not to sign a wage deferral. I have taken advice regarding this player and I am currently considering the options available."
The Millers have two home games left this season and Bleazard insists that the club need big attendances to boost their future chances of avoiding further financial problems.
He said: "I have reported previously the cash flows for the club are extremely tight and will remain that way until a purchaser can be found.
"These cash flows have been prepared based on a level of income generated from fans coming through the turnstiles.
"If fans do not turn up to the remaining fixtures there is no income stream and the club would not be able to trade.
"I am hopeful the loyal fans of the club, the people of Rotherham and football fans in general will turn up to our remaining two home fixtures to help save the club and to show potential investors the fantastic support this club generates."
