Gritton misses out for Silkmen

Fri 11 Apr, 04:30 PM

Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander will be without the services of striker Martin Gritton for the visit of second-bottom Mansfield. The former Lincoln forward is nursing a back strain which ruled him out of last weekend's 1-1 draw at home to Wrexham.

Everton rookie Scott Spencer has returned to Goodison Park after his one-month loan spell at Moss Rose expired.

The striker made just three appearances during his time with the Silkmen - all from the substitute's bench.

Alexander has been pleased with the way his side have climbed away from the relegation zone in recent weeks.

He said: "I've got a good bunch of lads who do what I ask of them. Some have been upset at a few things but they understand what we are trying to achieve and hopefully the results show we have the makings of a very good team."
