Wolves manager Mick McCarthy believes that winger Michael Kightly could return against Ipswich a week on Saturday. The England Under-21 international has been sorely missed by McCarthy's side since having an ankle operation in January and will play in a specially-arranged practice match next Tuesday to prove his fitness.
McCarthy said: "If Michael gets through the game on Tuesday then ok, he has every chance of being involved against Ipswich.
"His ankle is fine now. But how often have you seen a player return from injury only to get a groin or hamstring strain?
"His enthusiasm is wonderful but it could also be his worst enemy.
"It's for him to be bullish and buoyant about things and for us older and wiser sorts to temper that."
