Magpies waiting on skipper Tann

Fri 11 Apr, 01:30 PM

Notts County will be hoping skipper Adam Tann returns from injury for the crucial home clash against Accrington Stanley.Defender Tann had to be substituted midway through the second-half of County's defeat at Bury after suffering a dead leg, with the problem ruling him out of the midweek loss at Rochdale.

Those back-to-back defeats, coupled with no win in the last four matches, has seen local rivals Mansfield close the gap on the relegation-threatened Magpies to just three points.

Jay Smith (medial ligament) and Gary Silk (hamstring), who was on the bench at Spotland, will again be assessed before the game, while fellow midfielder Gavin Strachan is close to returning from his knee problem but will not feature.

Kevin Pilkington is making good progress in his recovery from a leg fracture and the former Manchester United goalkeeper could be back in contention before the end of the season.
