Rangel returns for Gills encounter

Fri 11 Apr, 03:45 PM

League leaders Swansea travel to struggling Gillingham with manager Roberto Martinez expected to hand a recall to defender Angel Rangel.A groin problem prevented Rangel from featuring in Tuesday's goalless draw at Carlisle, handing Ashley Williams to chance to impress.

But Rangel has benefited from the welcome respite and should return to the side as the Swans go in search of the victory at Priestfield which secure the club's promotion to the Championship after a 24-year exile - although they may not even need to win depending on Doncaster's result on Friday night.

Defender Marcos Painter returned to Martinez's matchday squad at Brunton Park in midweek following a five-game lay off with a hamstring injury and will be hoping to be involved against the Gills.

Midfielder Ferrie Bodde (groin) and defender Garry Monk (back) are still out of action.
