Former Millwall striker Tom Brighton has agreed a two-year contract at St Mirren after driving 350 miles to secure the deal.Brighton was freed by Lions boss Kenny Jackett on Tuesday and wasted no time in moving up to Scotland.
He told the South London Press: "I drove up to Glasgow from London with my girlfriend to see about getting the deal concluded and it's worked out perfectly - because I'd given up my flat in London anyway and I'm out of it on Saturday!
"When I heard of St Mirren's interest I jumped at the chance and the talks between Gus MacPherson and my agent all went very smoothly and I'm delighted to be here.
"Now I'm determined to show up well in pre-season. Most people dread it, but I'm going to be looking forward to it thoroughly."
